Shakawe – Ngepi Camp

Crossed into Namibia today. We were told we needed an escort to go through the mahango park (a game park right on the border). So we got one to follow us for about 1 k to please the gaurds. We told him to go ahead and drive on after that 1 k. We were on a rough road, and 3 of 4 of them were drunk, so we waved them on. The last thing you want behind you on gravel are drunk impatient drivers. It was a pretty ride and we saw some impalla. Most of it was gravel and we finished up with a 4 km death ride to ngepi. It was worth it though. Ngepi is very cool. Unfortunately steph got a stomach bug and was pretty ill. She was about 100F fever and not having a good time. On the plus side we were right next to the river and got to see some hippos out of the water.
